signing in with a big bowl of stewed brambles (can you say that? or are just the plants brambles and not the fruit?) and ice cream.

LadySybilLikesCake · 01/08/2014 19:05

Blackpuddingbertha · 01/08/2014 19:25

Just peeking in to check that the preparations for this evening's potting shed party are going smoothly and the elderberry fizz is cooling.

Will be back once I've filled the previous thread with random posts.

LadySybilLikesCake · 01/08/2014 19:34

Blackpuddingbertha · 01/08/2014 19:38

We'll save some lavender scones for you LadySybil.

LadySybilLikesCake · 01/08/2014 19:46

Oh, yes please. I'm trying to grow some lavender but I don't think it's is very happy growing in a window box Blush. Anywhere you'd recommend?

NotAnotherNewNappy · 01/08/2014 20:08

I'm here!

Lady- IMHO lavender loves sun and well drained, not too fertile soil (I mixed in lots of grit & play sand in mine). Plus a nice big pot.

LadySybilLikesCake · 01/08/2014 20:20

Maybe the pot isn't deep enough. Hmm. Thank you. Smile

I've still got last week's GW to catch up with. Commonwealth Games are interrupting the normal viewing agenda in this house.

HumphreyCobbler · 01/08/2014 21:00

Hello everyone
I am drinking pudding wine

HumphreyCobbler · 01/08/2014 21:01

I can't keep up with the courgettes. Why did I plant so many????? No one else wants them either, all my friends have their own plants. The pigs are happy though.

MaudantWit · 01/08/2014 21:02

Hello!

::goes back to fill up old thread with inane ramblings meaningful comments::

Squeakyheart · 01/08/2014 21:28

I gave some of my courgette plants to the in laws who brought them back this week! Apparently they don't eat them unless it's in lasagne and that's too high in sugar for their diabetes, so going to look back for courgette soup recipe.

Would it be too unsociable to take my elderflower fizz into the bath with me? Will catch up with the party later!

Blackpuddingbertha · 01/08/2014 22:11

My courgettes are sulking.

So want rain tonight. All night would be good. The garden is parched and the water butts are empty. It was forecast for two days of rain, now just saying a few hours over night.

EnidB · 01/08/2014 22:19

Try this with the courgettes, fingers crossed, never done a link before

Lovely title, rhubarb. I'm shuffling about making morning cuppas. The birds are all yelling at the top of their lungs, no doubt relieved that the cold snap has eased off.

It SNOWED in regional Victoria yesterday, something usually confined to the high country. Cue hysterical reactions.
