Viola Wittrockiana - what can I grow with it?

Hi, I've sown some seed for viola wittrockiana which (if it survives) will be grown in a container over winter into next June.

I was thinking of putting something in the middle of the container, say, a dot plant to break it up, or would the viola be ok on its own with the array of colours it'll produce? Any ideas will be appreciated.

Maybe put some small trailing ivy plants around the pansies or go for a small shrub in the centre?

Multicoloured pansies are lovely.
I think it depends on the size and depth of container, as if smallish, the pansies will look lovely on their own. If largeish then something tall in the middle such as a dahlia tuber and some foliage such as trailing ivy round the edge will look nice
