I've got a flowerbed in the garden which has two established, very healthy Heuchera in it. The other side of the flower bed, I planted out 3 seedlings I suppose you'd call them, which I'd overwintered. They probably have about 8 leaves each. They are the same colour as the established ones, though probably not exactly the same strand.
One of the plants in particular is being eaten by something. The leaves are being snapped off, and often I find them either just under, or up to a foot away from the plant. One is almost leafless now
.
We do have roe deer come into the garden, but they usually munch mercilessly. I would expect all 3 plants to be eaten if it were them.
I also have slugs but wouldn't I see just leaves or parts of leaves eaten, and not nipped off and left near the plant?
Any ideas as to what is doing this? I'm pretty sure we don't have wild rabbits.
