I was ambling around the garden centre this morning looking for some ideas and caught the smell of this. Really lovely scent. Bit disappointed it says it only grows to 1m as I would have liked it to go higher than that but going to put it alongside the house and path to the front door so that we can enjoy the smell.

I have havered over buying one of those - I have seen them recommended so many times, and they are so pretty but it seems they need shelter:

However I didn't realise the scent can spread like that so I think I'll get one next time I see it - thanks!

yes everything does say a sheltered position (the joys of internet on mobiles, I had a read up on it before I bought it). I suppose though it depends just HOW sheltered they need. I am hoping to put it next to a West facing wall which is relatively sheltered. Will see what hubby thinks later. It is my birthday present to myself.

I think the scent is strongest at this time of year so I must have just been lucky to go past it at the right time. my car smelt lovely on the way home!

Lovely. But I once spent a summer digging this out of a border when the head gardener decided he wanted something else in there. I dug down two feet and the roots were still going. Blinking nightmare. Rather put me off it.
