My containers are looking pretty sad now, in spite of regular watering and dead heading. Think I will have to go out and buy some new things. My lawn is fairly brown - but not as bad as next door's - our garden is more shady. I also have leaves all over the garden because my silver birch thinks it is Autumn already....

It will be interesting to see which shrubs survive the summer - I have not really been watering them at all. They have mostly finished flowering too so there is a decided lack of colour overalll.

Lawn is looking dead as a dodo, shrubs doing ok despite no attention, containers have been watered so not too bad and raspberry canes producing more than we can physically pick, eat and hand out to friends, neighbours and passers-by!

Been watering every other day so most things surviving (those bedding plants that haven't been eaten by slugs/snails!) My buddleias have just started flowering. Isn't that a bit late?
Ground rock hard though (horrible clay soil, like a mudbath in winter)
Lawn- brown at front, brown patches at back. Should start going green due to thunder storn we've just had!

Mine is doing OK really. Lawns a bit brown and bamboo slightly shrivelled but is well established so I expect it to cope. Basket had started looking a bit sorry but has revived. All containers doing fine. My begonias have been wild this year - will definitely plant again. Also passion flower growing away over pergola and madly flowering. I water containers every day but the rest of it less than once a week and grass not at all. We do not have a hose pipe ban.
