RHS Cardiff Flower show. Is it good?

I am considering buying tickets for my parents for this (xmas gift). My mum loves flowers and gardening.

Is the RHS Cardiff one any good? Is it a whole day out?

I have also been looking at the RHS Hampton Court show, the tickets are dearer but there is more info on it and it looks good but its further for my parents to travel and will be of cost to them.

Not really a gardening sort myself so advice and opinions would be much appreciated. Of course if any one can recommend any other flower shows within 2 hours of the Bristol area then please do so. I started off looking at the Chelsea Flower show but its beyond my budget.

I went years ago but wasn't very inspired. There were a lot of commercial stands and the show gardens were minimal. I'm hopeful that is has improved.

I think Hampton Court would be better, however if you just want to make a nice easy day out for your parents then their comfort and convenience comes high on the list.

Ok thanks. I am torn between the 2 tbh but am wondering if they will see going to Hampton Court a bit of a chore.

Never done Cardiff. Spring gardening in Malvern is OK if the weather is nice. The show gardens are a bit small, the pavilion is nice. The setting under the hills is beautiful.

Easy drive from Bristol, M5 and one junction up the M50 (or not according to google) anyway 1.5 hrs or less except for show traffic.

Malvern would be doable for them. Will take a look at the web page. Thanks.

if going to Malvern it's worth putting a shout out for Resturant recommendations. Show catering is pretty awful, a nice pub meal before driving home would make a lovely day.

Mine would be The Wellington, chances pitch, ledbury, but that's a bit out the way.
