Just disturbed an ant/flying ants nest in my garden, what can i do?

bleach and boiling hot water!

It should kill them. Put the bleach down first, leave it for a coulple of mins and then pour on the water.

I'd play on mumsnet for several hours and then have a sleep and I bet that tomorrow they'll be gone (if you've disturbed them big time).

well i got up this morning and there were hundreds of ants all over my hallway. gr.

This happened to us on Saturday, our front lawn was literally a sea of flying ants.

We tried the boiling water, which did work for a bit but then I sent dp up in the loft to get some ant stuff he had left over from when he did pest control, and that killed the little buggers nicely.

You obviously didn't disturb them enough !

ant bait we use nippon ant kiler I think?
they take it back to teh nest and it kils them all, we were ant clear in 48 hrs

I just put our pet Bantams next to the nest, they love flying ants.

Has any one tried the organic killers - ant nemotoades? I keep meaning to get some mail order or from the garden centre - pre paid mail order voucher.

They are like parasites that kill them.

just let the flying ones go, they won't come back (or you'll be left with tons of bodies and you'll feel bad)
