HELP - really fast growing, easy spreading plant to cover rubbish ground

I am currently renting a property but we are obviously looking after the garden.

Behind the house we have a very steep bank which is prone to grass and weeds etc. and I want to cover it in some kind of easy growing ground covering plant so that it looks nice all year round and minimises the weed/grass potential.

As a complete novice at this - any ideas?

Rubus tricolor is very robust and quickly covers ground it sends out long shoots which root when they touch the ground. It is evergreen and very easy to propagate so if you have a large area to cover buy a few plants and propagate these.
It is a relative of the blackberry (bramble) but it is not spikey to touch. I would do a link but I don't know how.
Whoever lives in the house after you will curse you if they want to dig it all up but it is a cheap and quick way of covering most areas (dry, wet ,shade, sun)

Comfory is another good one, though it dies down in wineter it provides great ground cover is invasive and has lovely flowers in spring through to summer. Again very easy to propagate just snap a bit of with a root plant it and hey presto of it goes.
