Quick way to tidy up greengages and cherries after June drop?

...so now the lawn is covered in a fine layer of immature fruit and I really need to clear it up to stop dd1 traipsing pulped fruit into the house and to salvage the lawn - it was badly neglected and now I'm starting to understand why!

I have a lot of fruit to pick up (2 big greengage trees, a cherry and 2 apples) - anyone had any success with using a garden vacuum / leaf blower set on "suck-mode" to collect up these small, light fruit?

cheers, Fodders
