Putting away garden furniture

Hi

We have had a lovely wooden table and chairs given to us and will shortly be putting it away for the winter.

Do I just dismantle and put away and oil next year, or do I need to oil it before it gets put away?

Also, how do I know if it is teak or hardwood (don't know much about woods!)

Teak is hardwood. I don't dismantle mine. I put it in the garage or barn or leave it outside under a cover.

I oil mine in the spring.

Oh, see I really do have no idea :)

I will have to dismantle mine as it will take up too much space in the garage but good to know you don't oil until spring.
