I'm looking for a cherry tree or something similarly lovely for a wedding present for some dear friends.

I've used crocus.co.uk in the past for shrubs and been impressed but I wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere for healthy trees?

I bought fruit trees for our garden here. They're native trees and will give you good advice about settling them in and what would be suitable for your garden. Might cost a bit more though.

I have just bought two greengages from keepers nursery. I havent got them yet (trees are usually delivered November-March) but they have a lit of choice, a lot of useful info about selecting varieties and are v reasonable.

I've also ordered fruit trees from Keepers for delivery in the autumn. I've used them before and been happy.

Another vote for Keepers, I've had an apple tree from them. They can help you with varieties if you're not sure what you want.

I can really recommend Tree2mydoor - they are a specialist tree gifts company and all of the trees that they send come in a pot so you don't have to wait until the Winter when they are dormant to plant them out. They let you add a personal message to a free greetingscard. Their prices are slightly more expensive than buying a bare root, probably because the pots are a bit heavier but the tree arrives gift wrapped with card and I love them. They have a page dedicated to wedding gifts on their site. I am a massive tree fan and this is the best company I have found so far x x x
