Strawberries from seed [I'm just boasting so feel free to ignore!]

I am a plant killer. More plants have suffered at my hands than is seemingly possible. I have no clue what I do wrong.

BUT!

Last year I planted some strawberry seeds and now, look at this:

Are they an alpine/wild variety? Did you need to put them in the freezer?

They are alpine. I actually just got them from the pound shop and they came with a mini propogater thing (just a box with a lid basically) and I sprinkled them on the soil and they grew. I then put them all in some pound shop plant pots and they went crazy and grew everywhere including into the cracks on the patio, so this year I just dumped them out into a bed I have and I've got this and tons of strawberries growing!

They must be the most hardy little things ever as I have given the zilch care.

I bought one of those tesco buckets with strawberry seeds this year. They have all grown but no flowers or berries yet.
The plants i bought have all produced berries but i never get to eat any as my son picks and eats them everytime he walks past. He says they have much more flavor then the shop bought punnets.

Yes, they are certainly hardy, and grow like weeds all over my garden, back and front, without even buying any from poundland! Have been pulling them out for years, they are so invasive.......

But yummy invasive!
