Planting plan help required....!

So I've just worked out the layout of my new garden (started with a nearly bare long rectangle) and had a digger in to make the plant beds, now I need some ideas for what to plant where....it's a big space so lots of plants needed (have some good sources of whatever I want!) just need to workout what and where.... Any good tips??

What size are the beds, FairyTrain? And do you want lots of flowers, or mainly different colours of foliage? And big shrubs, or a traditional cottage garden?

Can you be a bit more specific fairy? How big? How much sun? what style/colours do you want?

Sorry, been in the garden all day ! It's in full sun most of the day, have just bought some shrubs and trees for the back of the beds, the beds are BIG would like to fill the front with flowers, probably ones that come each year (mind gone blank as to what these types of plants are called...) not trad cottage garden style, more contemporary.....
