Lots of gardening things in our local shop, mostly Goodlands brand.. Are they worth buying? We have limited space so don't want to waste money on bulbs that won't flower etc

I think the majority of my garden plant wise is pound land special. I will say their lillies and roses are fantastic just make sure planted in right conditions and patience may take while to establish final result is great and I'm no expert gardener so bulbs must be pretty strong if I can grow them lol. But thumbs up by me!

Lidl is also good. I bought a round box last week, but they have now sold out. Shame!

I have bought loads of poundland bulbs and everyone of them has come up. I had a full bed of irises last year that looked lovely and the total cost was £4 in poundland.
I buy quite a few bits for the garden in there and the only thing that has been a waste of money is their plant stands as they are too flimsy and the wheels come off. I used their moss clear to clean my pots today and the stuff was brilliant and just ate away all the moss and algi without the need to scrub with a wire brush.

I actually bought a hanging basket and some bulbs today from poundland (I don't particularly know what, they were just for hanging baskets and they looked colourful!) and I've put it outside and it looks nice. Fingers crossed it flowers and dangles like it should!

I've had a few poundland fails, but I think that's down to the condition they were in when I bought them. There is no air con in the shops to keep costs down. If you buy at the beginning of the season they fare much much better IMO.

The cornus I've bought there have done spectacularly well. Also a grape vine I think, before the dog dug it up. Sad

I know this is a zombie thread but it's the same question. I've just got back from a trip to Aldi and they had tons of acers but nothing I want. I know I could go to the garden centre but the ones near me are very espensive. Geraniums are £3.99 a pot. They're in fab condition and nothing ever fails but I wouldn't mind a bargain for the next lot of pots.

Anything good out there?

Have a look at the 'Cheap by nature' thread.

A lot of stuff from Aldi is very, very good indeed. As long as the plant looks in reasonable condition, go for it!

Oh thank you. I didn't know it existed.
