Where are my rudbeckias?

Last summer I grew loads of rudbeckia from seed. It is biennial so I planted it in a sunny border in the autumn as guided. It died off but when will it come back. We live on the south coast and most of my perennials are up now but no rudbeckia. Does anyone know when it comes back?

i think they don't come back for a while yet. may? not sure but seem to remember this vaguely.

Thanks cece - do echinacea do the same? We had the house painted last year and a heavy footed decorator trampled mine into the ground. I planted them as quite large plants and I keep looking for them but still nothing. My ground elder is coming on a treat though Wink!

very early still for perennials and esp rudbeckias as they flower late summer and autumn

the slugs eat all ours

Thanks Enid. I am the worlds most impatient gardener! A bit of sunshine sees me poking around the borders at every available opportunity.
Bad luck about the slugs - I let our chickens in to the garden now and again, they love slugs!
