Spring hanging baskets

What can I put in hanging baskets that will come out in spring? Mine are quite small so not too deep. I was thinking about tete a tete or hyacinths. Would that work? Would I need to water them over the winter?

Anything that is low growing, so you could have low growing tulips as well. And grape hyacinths. Maybe some trailing ivy. Yes to the odd bit of watering to not let the soil dry out altogether especially if the hanging baskets are under the eaves and don't get much/any rainfall. careful with hyacinths, some are very long-stemmed and may get damaged by strong winds. With tulips look out for patio varieties, esp, kauffmanniana varieties will be fine.

Thanks. I've bought some tete a tete bulbs but I like the ivy idea, I'll get some of that.
