Can someone suggest an evergreen climbing plant with a nice scent please?

i'd like an evergreen that has a nice scent (preferable scented in the summer when I have the doors open)

it's for a south facing fence. In quite a small garden (though decent size for a city garden so not too bad!) so can't be too large, well high, fence is 6ft (i think) and there's about 10ft of spred (again I think!)

i'm an a clueless but enthusiastic gardener

Various jasmine (quite a lot to choose from so see what you fancy). I had a scented clematis - armandii I think it's called. It flowered twice in the year, gorgeous but had to leave in garden when we moved. Must get round to getting another to nurture.

Clematis Armandii is evergreen with white flowers which smell lovely in spring. It's a bit rampant maybe for your height restriction - depends on whether there would be issues if it goes over the top of the fence or you could add a trellis to give more height.

Various honeysuckles including 'darts world' are evergreen and have a lovely scent but again, quite vigorous..

If it doesn't need to be evergreen you'll have more choice of clematis etc and you could also grow sweet peas which are amazing for scent!

Star jasmine or Trachelospermum is evergreen, likes the sun and has lovely scented flwoers thorughout the summer. It is also a much tidier climber than clematis or honeysuckle.
It is a bit on the tender side and is often cut back by frost. Are you in the North or South?

You could consider a climbing rose as well. In milder weather they often hang on to their leaves.

I planted a climbing rose on my wall 7 years ago, it flowers from May through to October, and smells gorgeous.

Bear in mind that with roses you have to dig a very deep hole, and fill it up with perfect compost, with some chicken manure mixed in.
