Is it worth planting any veggies now- and if so, what?

I should read my Carol Klein book but am being lazy....

My courgettes have died. They are yellow and withered. This means that I have a fairly large space in my raised bed. Is it worth sowing anything now that might grow by end of October, or later? Already have leeks, beetroot and cabbages, so maybe something different?

I put cauliflower, kale and broccoli (all young plants) in last week.

This week we're sowing radish, chard, winter lettuce and salad leaves. Seeds tend to be half price in garden centres this time of year.

I shoved in some spinach three days ago.

Rocket, salad leaves, beetroot, fennel, kohl rabi and late carrots can all be put in if you act quick.

You could consider getting a small cloche for later in the season.

I have just sown 32 broccoli - will be ready to cut February. I netted them cos of cabbage fly/pigeons.

Got them from Marshalls online very quickly, in 2 days.
