Ladybird ladybirds where have you flown?

Usually my garden is ladybird central (lucky emoticon) but this year, there haven't been many at all - one or two sluggish ones.

As a result there are many many greenflies feasting on my plants. Not sure if it is also why my garden is host to approx 10 billion ants this summer? As in lots of aphids for them to milk?

Anyone else notice a ladybird shortage?

ive noticed loads recently, i live in the south east near brighton. with all the wet weather weve got a slug and snail explosion!
