The problem I have always had with growing a chamomile lawn is that the chamomile grows much slower than grass. It becomes a real problem to keep the grass weeded out without disturbing the chamomile. I would have thought that growing it from seed would make this all the more difficult.

I tried, but the weeds took over. In the end I grew in pots from seeds and planted out (a much smaller area than i originally wanted) when they were big enough. To be honest the weeding is still a pain but it smells gorgeous.

Camomile seeds from tea bags have germinated in the bare patches in my lawn. They may not survive into plants though as I propose to mow my lawn regularly. It is currently weed free.

That should work. Although I have found that the thyme I planted between old paving stones worked much better.

did you plant the thyme as seeds or plants ?
