Novice gardener, so excuse my ignorance :) I want to plant bedding plants in pots, but last year some of them just filled up with weedy shoots within weeks of planting. I've pulled out what I can but there are still a lot of small loose roots in with the soil. Can I salvage it with some kind of weedkiller, or do I just need to bin the old soil and start again?
