Half of rosemary plant is dead

We've got a nice big rosemary in a pot. About two years old. Part of it is dying off. Should I just prune off the dead bits? Sorry for obvious question! Thanks.

Yes, the dead bits need to be pruned but, depending on where you are in the country, it might be better to wait a little while, because if the pruned cuts are caught by frost it may encourage more of the plant to die back. Have you checked too for rosemary beetle? The little blighters killed off my rosemary.

Thank you. I'll have a look for the beetles and wait a few weeks before pruning. Hardly had a frost here all winter (Devon).

You'd probably be fine pruning it now then, although it's probably still wise to wait - my note of caution was in case you were in the Orkneys!
