I have to DS who are going to be 2 and 4 very close together and I want to get them stuff that they can use in the garden together. (the 2 year old is VERY physical) the 4 year old not so much.

We probably have a total budget of £200/£250 including help from Granny/auntie.

What should we get them that they will actually use and enjoy?

(NB we have a reasonably sized garden - about 100ft all together)

Trampoline! Every child who comes to our house loves it. We got ours from Asda online last summer. It is 10 foot with pads/net etc and was from memory about £100. Plenty of money left for something else too.

Thankyou very much. We bought a play house last year - and they only really play with it when we have visitors - which is what worries me about the other stuff - also the little tykes plastic stuff - don't they grow out of it really quickly?

I am def looking at a trampline - just worried the two year old is too little. And am going to get some kind of sand pit thing (with cover).

Would you recommend sandpit/water thing you have to stand to use - or sitting in sandpit?

I would get/make the biggest (covered) sandpit that you can. Something that they can make roads and drive lorries, diggers and tipper trucks in. We had a standing-up type one which was rarely used but DS will sit for hours in a pile of sand digging!

beanandsput - How does it work with the plastic cover? We had a little one and it was always blowing off.
