I am about to get a landscape gardener to make-over our garden - it a flat rectangular southfacing newbuild plot - not massive but OK size -20m x 10m roughly.. We have 3 DCs and a barbeque. We are quite overlooked by the neighbours. If you had a blank slate, what are the best things you could put in you garden? I'm thinking path/raised beds/pergola/shade sail/deck? Completely no idea what will be the most useful/fun things

A really generous patio that you can fit a large enough table for you all to sit round and still have space to push your chairs back after eating.

Good deep borders along all boundaries so you can plant substantial shrubs and trees to help screen you from the neighbours.

Pergolas are lovely for climbing plants, add interest, fun for kids to run along and also help with screening.

A raised bed for veg growing near the house is useful, if you enjoy growing.
