Any tree huggers fancy helping me choose a tree to plant in my garden?

I want to plant a tree. Preferably with a long straight trunk and a lollipop of foliage at the top. It can be as tall as you like (100ft garden) but I would like a narrowish canopy. And if it had fantastic autumn colour and/or spring blossom then that would be a huge bonus.

We planted a small leafed lime about 6 years ago, we were given it by someone, and it's lovley, gorgoues green, lovely range of aurumnal colours, not massive yet and you to have to keep lopping off the bits that grow from the trunk to encourage and nice straight trunk.

I'd recommend the Robinia 'Frisia' tree. It has gorgeous vibrant green/yellow follliage. Leaves drop off in the winter though.

Not sure if it's the shape you're after.
