can anyone tell me what tree/bush this is

on our way to school my dd's saw this tree and wanted to know what it was called. i have trawled google trying to find out what it is but have been unsuccessful. this is a photo i took on my phone, can anyone tell me what it is so i can tell the girls when i get them from school?

Looks like ivy to me but you say it was a tree?

im not sure it if it was a bush or a tree as it was poking through a fence and about 5ft high, i dont really know much about plants/trees

I don't think it's a tree - it looks like ordinary old ivy. That's the flower bud. Of course it can take over weak or dead trees and take on the shape of a tree or bush.
