Lavender Help please

Do I need to trim back my lavender plants and is now a good time to do it before the frost sets in?

Yes, you can trim it back now, they go leggy if you don't trim them. I was always told not to trim back into the wood but I did once when trying to get rid of one and it came back really well. I would avoid cutting back too hard though just in case. I use topiary shears to do mine, you can get a nice rounded shape then.
