Worn out patchy lawn due to boys and footy, help, will it always be this way?

Besides having the Wembley groundsman on tap, what can I do about my worn out lawn due to my two DS's (4&9) playing footy, can't the net as the issue would still be the same.

What are the best treatments for lush lovely green grass beside selotaping my son's feet together. I do not like this baldy saddo look.

I have no idea but mine is the same , My boys are 5 and 7 and I have resigned myself to the fact my garden is going to look like a run down play park until they are grumpy teenagers .
