"The government is thinking about removing the obligation of local authorities to provide allotments when a certain number of people say they need one."

Please sign if you agree this change in legislation should not be allowed.

Shock

i'm all for petitions, and love my allotment. am rather alarmed this is the 1st i've heard of this.

is it confirmed this is a plan?

Does anyone "need" an allotment?

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 03/05/2011 16:19

ok, just been on www.nsalg.org.uk/here and it's too late!

hopefully there have been enough voices raised to be heard and the review is seen as non-viable

'Does anyone "need" an allotment?'

Does everyone here live in a house with a garden large enough to grow anything?

We don't. We live in a flat.

Our council doesn't provide allotments, though.

Well said Beaker

expat

many councils don't provide allotments, but at the moment it stands that if anything happens to stop allotment sites being used as allotments, your local council will have to find you alternative land.
