Anyone know which type of paint I should use to paint terracotta pots please?

Can anyone advise please?

Ordinary emulsion works. Once it's dry it won't be affacted by water. Or acrylics but they are pricey.

I used to work in a shop where they would buy pots, paint them, stencil a pattern on and sell them on, they used dulux.
