Does the new growth on eleagnus "Gilt Edge" look kind of wierd?

I've never had one before and bought one last week. The new baby leaves look strange, I thought it was faulty, but they were all like that so I thought they are supposed to be like that and bought one anyway. Now I'm worried. They are kind of scaly and a funny colour like they're dying off, not like the nice yellow and green of the mature leaves.

Bump.

Anyone?

The little new leaves are kind of gray and rough.

From what I've just googled, your plant appears to be growing normallySmile Sorry I can't help any further, I've no experience of this particular shrub! ...hopefully some knowledgeable soul will be along shortly!

Thanks, Melina. My mum had a look yesterday (she's got one in her garden) and she thinks it's normal too. Looks very odd!!!

I know, it's looks extremely bizarre as the new growth looks nothing like the mature leaves! Mystery solved then, pleased all is well!
