Any idea on cost of hiring someone to do a garden 'make-over'?

We have a couple of different people coming to have a look and they've asked what our budget is. We have absolutely no idea how much it costs (I realise it's like asking how much is a piece of string )
It's a small rectangular garden (victorian terrace) with side return - I think about 26" long. It's on a light slope so we would want it leveled, decking removed (and some refitted) as well as lawn put down and some plants.

Are we talking £2k, £5k, £10k?

That's quite a lot of hard landcaping, and you don't say whether you are in London where everything costs more...

I would say £2k minimum, £5k should get you something quite special.
