Beans from last year's runners - can I plant them?

Took the opportunity whilst it was sunny to start to do a bit of clearing in the veg patch (very late I know but have a 1 year old so things have slipped a bit!)

There were still a few old, dried up runner bean pods on the canes, with good sized beans inside. Does anyone know if I can plant these?

Yes-my dad always saves seed from one year to the next and always has better crops than me.

Brilliant - thanks Mirage. Will give it a go.
