My turf is brown and mushy in places

Had part of my garden turfed last Oct/Nov time and since the bitter cold it had died off in places,other places it is green and healthy.I am new to gardening and not naturally green fingered HELP,what to do???

New lawn is very vunerable to frost unfortunately. This is a but early to start treating the lawn, but you could try aerating it now, which might help. When it's less wet in a month or so and starts growing properly see if it starts to recover. You can use a lawn rake to rake out dead grass. If it's really dead in patches, you might have to dig out those patches, turn the turf over then re seed on top.
