All the fruit on one of my tomato plants have a 'rust' on them, can we still eat them?

Sorry dont know the answer to this one - only would you buy them with rust on?

Does it rub off? I seem to think that it's caused by them not having enough water at some stage - although not sure! Give one to dh, if he's ill then don't eat anymore!

Is it definately rust not black bits at the bottom - in which case it's blossom end rot caused by haphazard watering! cut the bits off and eat!

Mine are lovely, they smell like tomatoes should, shop brought ones are smellless. I have saved a small fortune with my 3 plants this year Id eat rusty ones!!
