calling all experts!

i am growing tomatoes for the first time. i now have some large tomatoes (as well as some smaller)which are still green. they have been for a few weeks now and i am wondering whether to pick the larger green ones to allow the smaller ones to get bigger or leave them to ripen on the plants. if i do pick them do i just put them on my window sill to ripen? any help would be appreciated.

I would leave them on the plant to ripen, personally. They will ripen off the plant but i think they take longer (watched pot etc) and are never quite the same. Smaller ones will catch up.

Window sill will do for ripening if you have to, ideal is somewhere near a banana!
