I am the worlds worst garnener.......not a clue so please excuse my ignorance!!

I got given an aloe plant by a friend and have no idea how to care for it. It's in a glass vase (fully contained within the vase) and is planted in small stones/gravel rather than soil as far as I can tell.

Any andvice would be very much appreciated before I manage to kill it

An aloe vera?
I have a couple and I can't kill the things.. and trust me I am not green fingered with house plants!

Mine seem to like a light but not blazing sunlight position and although they are 'fleshy' plants they don't like being overwatered..makes them go greyish!
I ignore mine, water them about once a week. I did repot them into bigger soil pots tho when they started to look really squished and they produced smaller plants!

Brill for cuts tho.. I snap a leaf and rub the sap on

I live in Costa Rica and these plants grow everywhere over here. I keep a few in pots to use for home remedies and I too am a pretty awful gardener. I have forgotton to water them for weeks and then left them in the garden during rainy season where they get drenched everyday. Neither excesses killed them off.

Enjoy!
