Thread ready for results day tomorrow!

OP posts:
Countrylife2002 · 13/08/2026 06:13

I’m having another cuppa and then off to walk the dog. I had a stress dream about the dog last night quite randomly so now I’m anxious for both her and my dd!

BlackBean2023 · 13/08/2026 06:19

DD still asleep thank goodness as the minutes are dragging! I’ve been up since 5.15, just got back from walking the dog, and now anxiously clock watching. I will wake her at 7.30 as she needs to be dressed in case we have to go and collect results.

it feels like a perverse version of Christmas morning!

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 13/08/2026 06:37

DC has been asked if they would like to be an "ambassador" on the media today by the educational institution where they took their A levels. Of course, we don't know the results yet, but presumably that might be a good sign.

DC currently having a bath and spruce up. DC has requested a special breakfast and to be taken out for lunch.

Cratos · 13/08/2026 06:41

Our DS set up an alarm for this morning. I had a pretty restless night. Is the UCAS clearing open now?

AlwaysSometimesNever · 13/08/2026 06:43

DS’ results are retakes. So nervous for him. Just a dread feeling. Not sure why but he was one of the edexcel maths paper candidates so perhaps that’s something to do with it.

TheyGrewUp · 13/08/2026 06:46

Best of luck to you all. I'll never forget this day 10 years ago. DD got me up at 2.30am to support and encourage her very anxoous self.

Mummyoflittledragon · 13/08/2026 06:49

Feeling very nervous. Dd wants to collect her results at 8am. I imagine clearing after that if needed.

LasVegass · 13/08/2026 06:55

Good morning. Good luck 🤞

Fabfabfab · 13/08/2026 06:57

Just heard DC get up which is much earlier than usual so he must be feeling nervous. I had a restless night and feeling a bit nauseous now. Best of luck to everyone today!

Itsnowisntit · 13/08/2026 06:57

Good luck everyone, I was in your position nearly 2 weeks ago waiting for the Scottish exam results. I was a nervous wreck and couldn’t sleep and had to wake DS to check his text/emails.
I hope your DC’s get the results needed for their next chapter and you all get to have a glass of wine later.

temperedolive · 13/08/2026 06:59

They want me to play cards with them to help distract. I'll check in later, but good luck all!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 13/08/2026 07:00

DD keeps telling she isn't nervous (no uni plans so nothing riding on the grades) but I don't know how much of that is self-protection. She'll check her results on the college portal at 8, then going in to college for 9.30 to meet her friends (the college is putting on pastries and coffee for a celebration). I've got her a card and a little gift but I'm waiting to write the card until I know the results so I can tailor the message a bit more.

ArchitectureMum · 13/08/2026 07:01

1 hr to go. Good luck everyone. DD’s alarm was set for 7.50. Just me pinged awake for the moment.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 13/08/2026 07:09

Good luck everyone. I’m pretty jittery and DD seems to have reached a state of calm! She’s worked so bloody hard (as they all have) so fingers crossed it’s reflected in the marks.

Oceancreature · 13/08/2026 07:10

Good luck to all !!!

HavfrueDenizKisi · 13/08/2026 07:10

She’s going to try to check UCAS at 8 then straight to school.

HollyGolightly4 · 13/08/2026 07:15

Good luck everyone 🍀

Flamingpantoufles · 13/08/2026 07:19

Another one who has been up since stupid o'clock head whirring. Have done a bucket water of the garden, done a bit of work, cleared the kitchen... DD is still asleep as far as I know!! Nice to have a feeling of community on here. Good luck everyone

GinnyW · 13/08/2026 07:23

I didn’t sleep. 38 minutes to go.

CoffeeCantata · 13/08/2026 07:26

Yes, good luck everyone.

I went through this a decade ago at a time when the press was full of 'this year we're coming down hard - no more grade inflation'! I was more stressed than my son!

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 13/08/2026 07:28

I've been awake since 5.30. I've been listening to a rubbish audiobook as I don't want to put the news on. I'm trying to stop thinking about it. Clearly not working!

Shodan · 13/08/2026 07:32

I woke up every couple of hours last night! Ds2 said he slept fine though- typical!

He's meeting a friend to go into school for 8 am for their results- entirely his choice.

I'd love it if he got all his predicted grades, but realistically he doesn't need to for his uni offer.

Good luck everyone!

BlackBean2023 · 13/08/2026 07:38

Our builders have just turned up and I’ve made them a cuppa - their first question “is she in yet?” Grin Love that even they are invested!

Lampzade · 13/08/2026 07:40

Best of the luck to everyone
I still get nervous every results day even though all my dc s have completed their A levels years ago

gingercat02 · 13/08/2026 07:43

Yes that is DS plan, it was his maths GCSE that they rejected him on, so assuming his grades are OK he will be on the phone to discuss.
Agree with you @TeenLifeMumA grades are not the only way. We are not an A grades house.
I haven't even bought a card yet, don't dare until I know.
DS is in the shower. School at 8am.
Good luck all
