DD has her firm - Exeter. Lots of happy tears and we’re off to pick her results up now

Newlease · 13/08/2026 08:09

Anyone got further Maths grade boundaries for Edexcel

I think they usually take a few hours to be released?

TeenLifeMum · 13/08/2026 08:11

She’s in 🎉
Now for a coffee before driving 30 minutes to go and collect her results as we’ve no clue on her grades.

3GoldenLamps · 13/08/2026 08:12

I'm teary! DS1 is still waiting for GCSEs. I'm loving reading about your successes.

Waiting for DS to wake up to check UCAS! He did IB so had his results over a month ago but missed his first choice by a grade and they wouldn’t confirm/reject until today - it’s been a long few weeks of limbo!! He’s very happy with his insurance though but we just want to know!

I had exactly this two years ago with DD - she missed one grade in HL IB. She didn’t get in but I think your DS will as this year things are a bit different, from what I’ve seen on the news! Good luck!

xOlive · 13/08/2026 08:16

Ah good luck everyone and congratulations to those with happy news already!

My three children are in utero, nappies and Year 5 so this is just lovely reading that the stress and worry seems to get worse as a parent 😂

Anyone got further Maths grade boundaries for Edexcel

Well done to everyone's DCs.

They're available now, Newlease.

Tebheag · 13/08/2026 08:17

Dont let them look up the grade boundries !!
DS just found out he missed a C by 3 marks in Geography and an A in acoountany by 3 marks.

frugalkitty · 13/08/2026 08:18

He's in his first choice! Off to Loughborough he goes!!

Princessbananahamock · 13/08/2026 08:18

Daughter got her ucas offers email . Going to Bristol University her first choice! We are overjoyed! She worked really hard and was very unwell whilst sitting exams.

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 13/08/2026 08:19

DS has his firm and his results, which are brilliant ABC, considering 2 years ago he was so disappointed with his GCSES this is amazing! Even his c in Criminology- the June paper was A but because it was modular he got a D and a C in year 12 which meant he missed a B by a couple of %! We have the day to celebrate now! He's going to a party with his friends tonight!

Beaa82 · 13/08/2026 08:20

Good Luck Everyone!!

I would be particularly interested in how it panned out with the A Level Maths exam that was in the news - was it Edexcel?

LasVegass · 13/08/2026 08:20

DD got in her first choice! We’re on our way to get her grades.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 13/08/2026 08:20

BCC, so slightly better than her predicted, and she is happy with that. I feel she had the potential to do slightly better in one subject but she rightly prioritised her mental health over studying hard so its still a good result. Now she's just stressing over her best friend's result - no text yet which is worrying her.

petitpasta · 13/08/2026 08:21

Good luck for today for all students and parents. My two are already through this stage so I've lived this wild ride.

I just wanted to say that sometimes not getting your firm can be a good thing. Happened to DD and her insurance turned out to be amazing and she now has a fantastic grad job. If it happens it will feel like a disaster but there are silver linings I promise.

Busydoingsomething · 13/08/2026 08:21

DS has been accepted for his first choice. He can’t see his results online yet but is assuming that he got at least what they were asking for on their clearing page. He’s off to college to get his results shortly. Suspect I’ll next hear from him at 11pm!!

clary · 13/08/2026 08:22

Well done to all those with great results (especially anyone going to Loughborough (DS2's uni, he had a great five years there) and Bristol (my own alma mater a thousand years ago)! Wink
Genuinely though, your YP have worked really hard and done so well – all the best to them all.

ETA: mean to also say that DD did not get what she needed, but she ended up through clearing (stressful) at a great uni (Leicester) and she came out with a wonderful degree; in many ways it was a very good uni for her.

Boreded · 13/08/2026 08:22

gingercat02 · 13/08/2026 07:50

My phone is having a bad day
That was in reply to @Boreded
@TeenLifeMumglad your DD is OK

Well DS got his grades AA and Distinction, but even though Durham had the courses listen in clearing they only opened them to international students…annoying.

So he is sticking with his choice.

Hope your family got what they needed and good luck with clearing

Stowickthevast · 13/08/2026 08:26

Well done everyone, great to see how many got their firm!

gingercat02 · 13/08/2026 08:26

ABB, stunned and delighted. Guaranteed his firm, but presumably he's on the phone re clearing as we speak.

Onthesofawithmydog · 13/08/2026 08:29

Dd got into Bath - her first choice. Lots of tears all round. So proud! Feels like yesterday I was on mumsnet getting advice on breastfeeding so this all feels very surreal and emotional!

Grade boundaries are up now (all our DC long past A levels, but I'm still curious - also hope these links work, as phone has gone all weird recently...).

Lovely thread well done to everyone. We did it a few years ago for first dc. It’s a big day.

Shodan · 13/08/2026 08:30

Ds2 is into his firm! (Another Bath goer too!) Very happy.

DS just found out he missed a C by 3 marks in Geography and an A in acoountany by 3 marks.

DS is saying if he's a mark or 2 off he's going to ask for a remark but I don't know if it's worth the bother. He's got where he needs to be
