I’ve been offline for a while due to a very unseasonal flu, just catching up with the thread now.

@Ventress, hope your son has fantastic time in Instanbul. What an amazing young man you have! I’ve never been to Instanbul but it’s on my least because of all the care they show to the cats!

@Ventress I can’t help remembering how thoughtful your DS was - keeping things on a “need to know” basis as he awaited his offers, knowing what you were going through. You’re a special member of our community and you’ve raised a special young man, about to go out into the world and make his own mark. I have no doubt he will make a positive contribution wherever he goes. Please take our love with you. I will be thinking of you and your family.

DS is back from his holiday he had a great time.
Went for a test thing at a college today for maths and English not managed to find out really what it was about, came from him applying for an apprenticeship was told the business might take a few weeks to get back to him confused as starting date was in July.
Hope all kids travelling have a great time.

We got a text message from the NHS with a link to book. I assumed they were sending them to all those who are eligible.

@Ventress I’m so very sad to hear that and wishing you and family all the best. Your kindness and support has made such a difference to us on this group. It’s hard enough being a parent of a teenager doing a-levels and I can only imagine what you are going through. Your DC sounds like a wonderful young man who will go far in life and I’m sure having such a resilient mother has made a difference. Take good care and hope you can check in at some point if you feel well enough. Please know that your presence and support has made a real difference x

Hope everyone is having a good summer so far and that it’s not too hot in the UK. We are abroad for a couple of weeks although DC decided to only join us for a long weekend and leave early to go home and work and spend time with his girlfriend. Not been thinking much about 13th of August so far and trying to keep calm about it!

DS is stuck in Kos airport after a brilliant first holiday with his mates after his flight was cancelled. I'm 5 vodkas down. He's desperate for another hours delay so he can get his compo!

Take care of yourself, you have been the backbone of these threads which have given me a supportive base to come back to full of people who just 'get it'. You have the gift of making everyone feel special and included by your thoughtful comments on individual's circumstances. Although your DS sounds like an exceptional young man, he has an exceptional mum too.

DS has been getting fit over the last few weeks which is great. He used to be an excellent runner but COVID derailed that.

I am hoping we can go to Park run together at the weekend.

@temperedolive how lovely to have time living in Paris. Dd HF have 3 kids and lots of complicated after school activities to get them to it seems, they’re in central Madrid and she seems happy, they liked that she coaches football, they think their son will bond with her, I hope it works out, the contract seems sensible and the gave her the contract details of their last au pair who seemed happy. I’m looking forward to a weekend in Madrid half way through!
