How are we all doing? Are our DCs enjoying their holidays?

We're away and had the most awful journey. Flight should have been 2.5 hours but due to thunder storms at our destination we were diverted twice and ended up in Rome. We were flying to Croatia! Had to overnight in Rome airport as they'd run out of hotels and missed a whole day of our holiday!

But did eventually arrive!

Fingers crossed for a less eventful flight home.

@Ventress got to admit I actually came on here to see how you where doing. Sending love to you and the family.

Sounds like some kids are having a great time. For any struggling hope things improve very soon for you.

DS is currently in Malta with gf camping went well. Concerned he ain't seen friends as spending all time with gf ! Still no joy on an apprenticeship lastest applications don't close for another couple of weeks so fingers crossed he might get an interview at least.

Goodness @AuntyBulgaria that sounds horrendous! Hope you have a lovely remainder of your holiday!

DS had his Speech Day yesterday and his choirs sang for the last time. He won some prizes which was lovely. He’s in rehearsals for a play all day today, so I suspect tomorrow will be when it really dawns on him that he’s no longer a school student. It feels like a strange time now while they wait for results.

Morning all. We had prom on Friday, which was OK apparently (he wasn't really that keen on the whole idea tbh) and he's off to Zakinthos this afternoon which he is quite anxious about, but I'm sure they will have a great time.

we’ve been I’ve been thinking of a day in Bath. There are some “naice” hotels which don’t have steps which DH could manage with the wheelchair if I were a bit more mobile 💪👍

DS wasn’t keen on his Prom either and
i think it’s just the sort of child he is.

ds has speech day in 2 weeks @CatkinToadflax, he’s won a year 13 award but we don’t know which one until the day

they postponed speech day because of the weather last week. Good for me anyway, although I’d like know what DS has won (nosey)!

im glad you had time for your son to break out his voice- how wonderful. I love hearing the choir sing at DS’s school 🎼🎶

@AuntyBulgaria Hope you are now having a lovely and well deserved holiday in Croatia and that the flight back is much smoother! Croatia is on my bucket list but I've never managed to go.

@Tebheag fingers crossed for some good news on the apprenticeship interviews! I share your feelings about spending a lot of time with the GF - DC is the same and can neglect his friends a bit which isn't great. At least with the World Cup on he's managed to go out with them quite a bit to watch it in the pub.

@gingercat02 hope he has a great time in Zakinthos!

@Ventress glad you are ok, been thinking about you this week. We managed to get tickets for the Bayeux tapestry in September, just before the start of university, and looking forward to it. Bath is such a lovely place, hope you have a great time. I wish they did a History degree there as I think it would be a great place to study.

DC has been ill this week, better now than during a-levels though. He's had a bad cold and mostly been at home although managed a few tennis coaching sessions in between resting up. He's now also got some hospitality work lined up and is saving up money for his holiday with his GF in August.

@Ventress congrats on your sons award. Bath is lovely hope you can make it there. DS was camping in Cornwall it's a lovely spa hotel in Malta so a real contrast. Hoping he does not run out of money!

Hope you are having a fantastic holiday now @AuntyBulgaria my friends had a terrible time getting to the west cost of Italy - add on 6hours to standard travel time!

@Tebheag, ah sorry, I assumed you meant the island in the middle of the Mediterranean!

I love the idea of Bath- it’s close-ish to home (1 hours drive) plenty of history to see. I agree with @Fabfabfab/ it would be a great place for a history degree!

Hope your son is feeling better @Fabfabfabsoon. I think they keep it in for exams and let it all go afterwards 😂

DS is on his third holiday.
Done a week camping in Cornwall
Done a week in Scotland
Now doing a week in a lovely hotel abroad in Malta.
He is really making the most of his time of. These have all been with the gf.
He was meant to be going with mates to Europe but will run out of money I am considering finding it as would be good to go with his mates.

Sorry @Tebheag- I’m easily confused! Three holidays is incredibly lucky!
my son is thinking of a city break in Istanbul for a few days next week, which sounds nice.

@AuntyBulgaria sorry to hear you holiday didn't start well, hopefully you're enjoying it now.

We're back from ours and DS is back from his ( @gingercat02 DS went to the same place) and we've all had a great time. DS is full of cold though.

DC has been a total social butterfly so we've hardly seen them. They've gone to Leigh on Sea with friends today - apparently they didn't know that's where one of their great grandmas was from and where she met my grandpa.

DD has spent today in school....sorting out the drama cupboard and being stage manager for the ks3 play....

DD got her IB results today and has got into her first choice Uni. What a relief!
