DD was pretty happy with history today, although kicking herself that she forgot to mention Soweto.

4andnotcounting · 03/06/2026 06:58

@JustHereWithMyPopcorn he said he found it “weird” and “not like” his practice papers which has worried me. He said it was “alright “

how well my DS thinks something has gone ranking :-
good, ok, alright, bad 😂 🙈 😣

hels71 · 03/06/2026 07:14

Maths 1 here as well today. DD alternates between feeling fine and convinced she won't know anything..... She didn't revise last night either, went to a dance class and then did crochet. She said she revised in the day and her brain has had enough. I hope she does ok. She loves maths! However, there is a lot of pressure on her from school as they expect an A*......so fingers crossed the pressure doesn't get to her.....

Ventress · 03/06/2026 07:26

Good luck for all the maths students this morning.🤞💐🌟

DS has the day off and went to the gym last night. He plans to revise for economics 3 today. I will believe that when I see it!

Lalux · 03/06/2026 07:31

DS had Chem 1 yesterday and said it was ok. Maths today and then Biology tomorrow which I think is the one he’s more worried about as there is just a huge amount of content so he doesn’t necessarily feel that secure in his knowledge.

Wishing everyone luck today.

wizzlebear · 03/06/2026 08:14

My DD had her first written paper yesterday, AQA Chem paper 1, she had her French oral just before half term. Anyone else with AQA? She thinks she done quite well but said there were some tricky 6 markers. Biology tomorrow.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/06/2026 08:54

@4andnotcounting weird doesn’t mean he didn’t answer it correctly so hopefully it went better than you fear. Fingers crossed!

Maths 1 this afternoon. DS did no further work last night, has just got up and is faffing around up stairs still. He plans on going in at 11.30 which could be a good or bad thing depending on whether his friends (of whom 90% do maths) will be chatting or whether they will be studying. 🧐

Godd luck to everyone today, including Ventress getting DS to do the economics paper later! 😄

ArchitectureMum · 03/06/2026 09:51

Good luck to all the mathematicians this afternoon. DD is nervous but it’s got to be good to get going. It will all be over in two weeks and a day.

MamOfTwo · 03/06/2026 09:54

DD's penultimate exam this morning (Sociology). Hope papers are kind to everyone!

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/06/2026 09:56

We finish the same day as you @ArchitectureMum with maths as the last exam. Prom is the next day so at least they have a celebration sorted!

Ventress · 03/06/2026 10:21

Thank you @JustHereWithMyPopcorn!

Good luck with sociology @MamOfTwo

I’d forgotten about prom . DS’s is later this month. He has a decent suit but may need shoes, tie etc. at least he’s not female so no expensive dresses involved 😂

SilverBlue4 · 03/06/2026 13:10

Mine has one day to relax on the 19th and then has to be at the airport at 4am on the Saturday to fly to Geneva for a CERN visit

I think once I've dropped him off I shall go back to bed and stay there for the weekend 🤣

@Ventress I have two boys and am most grateful for that at prom time!! 😂DS2 is even using the same DJ that his brother did so super cheap for us this year!

@SilverBlue4 the CERN trip sounds fab. Our school ran this trip but it clashed with another that I'd already booked DS on so unfortunately he didn't get to go. He did go to NASA last year though which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Rumplestiltz · 03/06/2026 13:36

Aqa sociology seemed to be fine - probably didn’t do as much revision as he could have done as focused a lot on the history after the challenging paper 1, but now 9 days to revise for the final sociology paper which is the final exam! Hallelujah.

Wow, what program did he go on that lets UK students go to NASA??

That sounds perfect @JustHereWithMyPopcorn ! In fact if DS needs anything else I’ll send him round to the grandparents 😂

CERN trip sounds amazing @SilverBlue4

Glad sociology went well @Rumplestiltz, hope it did for the others too 🤞

Well DS has gone to Nando’s with some of his economics class. Will revision get done or will it be all about chicken?!

Shinyandnew1 · 03/06/2026 15:43

How did the YP find maths1 this afternoon?! It was ‘ok’ according to DC here…

MiniMidiMaxi · 03/06/2026 15:48

Waiting slightly nervously to hear from DS on how he found edexcel Maths, the online reaction seems to be that it was very very hard.

Glittertwins · 03/06/2026 15:50

Just heard about Excel maths, it was quite hard. The first 10 questions are usually relatively less difficult for DC and they get through them but not today. Others in the group were a lot more down.

Newlease · 03/06/2026 15:55

Oh I hear you about Prom, this group mostly has boys I think! Prom is day after exams and I had to nag her so much about ordering the dress! Dress is not here yet, and nothing else bought. Day after exams they have another training, and plan is to go shopping after that!
Just heard from DD, Edexcel Maths was hard ( harder than FM, and seems everyone is on the same boat) :(
Hopefully they will score enough to get into their firm!

AuntyBulgaria · 03/06/2026 15:56

I've had similar reports that Edexcel maths was the hardest paper he has sat, harder than FM.

Newlease · 03/06/2026 15:57

Same here! 5 more to go and ending on 18th

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/06/2026 16:15

DS just back and very annoyed. Said the Edexcel maths was ‘disgusting’. Much harder than the last couple of years papers for sure (he’s done them as practice papers), the 11 marker on integration (maybe Q11) was awful apparently. He couldn’t finish the paper and he’s never not finished a paper. Oh dear.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 03/06/2026 16:16

@SilverBlue4 it was a school organised thing, not sure of a name for it.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/06/2026 16:17

WJEC maths this morning was ‘very good’

day off tomorrow and then further maths on Friday morning.

2 out of 6 are done now!

Some of these summer trips sound fantastic! You’ll have to update us when they go
