Don’t know personally but a friend’s DD and DS went/go to Wymondham College, in Norfolk? Their children have been very happy there (oldest off to a RG uni). It’s a state boarding school, so fees are slightly more palatable!

Hi there @beanparcel . Hope you don't mind - we've moved your thread over to our Further Education board, where we think you'll get more answers about sixth forms.

@beanparcel
For private Subscribe to the good schools guide but apart from the schools based around Norwich you are looking at Greshams.
For Suffolk you have Framlingham College or schools around Woodbridge / Ipswich.

Would you consider Cambridge too? The Leys.

Echo posters above- wymondham college can be day or boarding. Norwich school is also very good if you want day. Ipswich high school (day) is strong academically and in a lovely setting. It depends whereabouts you live.

we have an open day arranged to look around in Wymondham, I’m really looking forward to that 🙂 I think it would suit us more in financial terms

Have you had a look at the schools around Ipswich? I think they all offer boarding - RHS is nice but I felt a bit too "military" for my girls. Ipswich School is very academic and get amazing results but they also have an entrance exam so only tend to take the best pupils.

I was personally torn between Woodbridge and Ipswich High School but ended up going to IHS for my girls - we don't board but I wish I could have been a boarder there, the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Woodbridge is also beautiful though and their 2025 results were really good.

I think the current head of Ipswich High School used to be the Wymondham head when they won secondary school of the year. I know their fees are generally seen as the most value for money in the area with food and extra curriculars included too
