Becoming a social worker

Looking for answers from qualified social workers if possible

So my son was on a child in need plan back in 2022 due his SEN needs and “home condition”.We were living in rented accommodation where we were fighting a losing battle with damp/mould among other things .luckily we are now living in different rented accommodation with no issues at all .I am considering applying to study social work at university but am concerned that the previous Child in need plan may Barr me from doing so .is this true ? I don’t want to start any applications if this is going to be the case

It wouldn’t. You’d need to disclose it but I’d say it’s actually likely to be a real strength in your interviews that you have lived experienced.
