Allegations

Hi guys, I would like an answer if you can to following. An allegations was made against me, as I said something that was unprofessional towards students (during the lecture).

My manager dealt with it and to say, the statement written by them it is not 100% correct; so it is my word against theirs. The student who made the allegations left and was not interviewed. To add that student was challenged few times by myself for inappropriate comments on, for example disabled people etc. They made allegations after leaving.

The investigation is ongoing and I feel that there is no accountability for the student and they made accusations on his exit. I do not belong to union.

Anyone was in this situation?

You need to get hold of the policy that the college/uni has on allegations.

The college/uni will interview those students that were in the class and get their views on the allegation and they will decide whether to take the allegation to the next level

You may be covered legally buy your house insurance as some have legal cover that extends to work issues.
You will get to see the statements that the students have made but there names will/should be redacted.
You can only be honest and point your pov forward.

But in the end you are correct in thinking that the (ex)student will not face any accountability for their actions in this. TBH it is doubtful that they would face any accountability even if they were still in the establishment.
