Hi all. My 16 year old son started college beginning of September. Two days before starting college he broke his ankle in rugby. He did manage to go to college the first day, but found it very difficult to get around on crutches, plus the college didn't want him there due to health and safety reasons. Week later he's having surgery (plate and 2 screws). We put a doctors paper into the college. But it's going to be at least another 4 weeks until he can partially weight bare. I'm concerned they will kick him off his course and tell him to come back next year. I've asked student services about him continuing his course but they just said speak to his tutor but he hasn't really given me a response either. He wants to be a plumber. Any advice would be most greatly please?;

Would he consider an apprenticeship instead?

Your son should contact his tutor and explain the situation - maybe he can do something from home in the meantime.
