Apprenticeship experts / I need help!

Anyone understand the ins and out? DS just going into 3rd year of an apprenticeship and was made redundant in the summer! He’s currently working self employed but needs a new employer to carry on his course. He’s got someone willing to take him own but he might not have continual work for him - will this be enough for the college? Does this new employer get the apprenticeship payout ? Tried to understand it online but it’s doing my head in!

What level apprenticeship? (I can't help but that may be relevant).

Level 3

He needs to tell his training provider that he has a change of employer and they will contact the new employer to see if what he will be doing at work will work with his apprenticeship requirements. If it does, they will then do the necessary paperwork to enable him to carry on with his course - if this is done within 90 days there will be no break in learning and he can continue on the course with the training provider.

He’s usually a minimum of 30 hours a week are needed.
