So we can't discuss on ballet co forum but wanted to give you my take.
We have just signed DD on for the degree course, however she was actually accepted at 14, after we missed open day so they let us do audition as "practice" but she got interviews and offered an unconditional place anyway!
So many teachers are recommending BTUK now. The reason he shut down social media is due to a parent not following his contractual rules and posting on ballet co about it (defamation) so, he asks all disputes are between school and aggreived....is that a bad thing?!
Shame, as mean he doesn't raise schools profile but his alumni is more impressive than Central and Northern Ballet even in Last 2 years. A student we follow has had scholarships from European and US comps and has just gor SA classical company for a year, straight outta BTUK school!
He does Move it, abt, Europe yagp style comps and supports his students 121 if they want it.
1st year accommodation is behind gated communities and they are affiliated to one dance uk and have a psychologist and physio in school, alternative weeks.
The pre start info is so comprehensive and they are strict with uniform and feeling part of the BTUK family. Sending parents info on how to support new students (mentally)!
Hinckley village look after the students, offering loyalty cards and part time work.
They do not bring in internationals, they offer to British kids, opportunities to perform work the company is real....
There may have been concerns in the past but this British Ballet school is going places. And is supported by the likes of Sander Bloomhart and Sarah Toner.
Look at the alumni....you don't need a royal patron to help students succeed:)
