Hi, my DS is hoping to study at ljmu In September. However his grades for btec are slightly below his offer so he may end up at his insurance choice which is also in Liverpool.
As both his firm and insurance are in Liverpool we thought it best not to book accommodation through ljmu but to make a direct booking with unite students so that we had accommodation secured in either instance.
We booked in March with unite students and made them aware that ljmu is his first choice and he will be a first year.. all sorted we thought as booking confirmed.
Unite have emailed today to say they have to cancel the booking as they have an agreement with ljmu for 1st years and we can't book direct unless they have permission from ljmu.
I will be calling ljmu in the morning to see if they will grant permission but just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and are that likely to give permission.
