DD has just realised that she has written the wrong date on her A level exam paper…goodness knows how she’s done it but here we are.

Anyone know what the consequences could be, we’re obviously both very upset and worried.

I very much doubt there will be any at all…if she’s worried tell her to contact her exams officer at school.

Brendabigbaps · 24/05/2023 20:01

nothing to worry about

Bobbybobbins · 24/05/2023 20:01

Don't worry at all, it will have no effect.

Charliebong · 24/05/2023 20:01

Thank you so much for your quick replies…really appreciate it.

I doubt this will be a problem at all.

8 years working in an exams office, it'll be fine. Nothing to worry about at all.

Charliebong · 24/05/2023 20:04

Honestly can’t thank you all enough for setting our minds at rest, as if it’s not stressful enough!

Was that one of the questions? If so then a mark off.

No sorry, I can see why you might read it that way. She put 22nd May instead of 24th May (date exam taken) alongside student number/centre reference etc.

My daughter put an incorrect student number on hers yesterday - I hope she remembered to tell her school when she went in today 😬!

Charliebong · 25/05/2023 17:46

Oh dear monday, I hope she got is sorted, it’s not a good feeling when they realise what they’ve done.

A good idea to mention it. However the names and numbers of papers handed in are usually checked against the attendance register and ticked off before the papers are sent off. They can be altered by the exams officer if needed.

As a marker for Scottish Higher English exam I have never looked at the date! Too busy focusing on the number of papers to mark. She'll be fine I'm sure

Yes this. They would be sorted by number order and matched to the register so would be spotted.

mondaytosunday · 26/05/2023 09:28

She remembered to tell them.
That's it now for half term - oh the relief! Just three more when she goes back.

MmeSzyszkoBohusz · 26/05/2023 09:36

What everyone else said - Exams Officer here and we check everything before sending and can amend if necessary. A date is definitely nothing to worry about!

Freshfoods · 26/05/2023 09:39

The wrong date on one paper really won't matter. All the students did the exam at the same time and the markers know that there was no possibility of your daughter doing it at any other time.

eddiemairswife · 26/05/2023 09:51

No problem, unless she put the Battle of Hastings as 1966.

😂This made me smile…thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to reassure us, I appreciate every single message.
